Tips from an experienced wedding planner

When planning your wedding, a lot is coming at you. I would like to share some tips with you, which I have learned from my experience as a wedding planner that they are very important. Try to think about these tips a number of times (during the entire planning).

Tip 1: Be yourself.
It is your wedding and do not do anything that does not suit you. Do what you like, of which your guests will also say 'this is really your day, so personal'. Wedding couples often find the guest list the most difficult. In order not to bump anyone, a reception is organized. However, many couples do not want to, and the formal character of a reception does not even fit them. Skip the reception!

Tip 2: Make sure everything fits together.
Nothing is as disturbing as elements in a wedding that do not fit together at all, just those things start to stand out. By incorporating a thread or theme into your wedding day. For example, simply choose a specific color theme or a particular style that you remain faithful to. This creates one beautiful wholeness and it does not look messy.

Tip 3: Relax.
The planning of your wedding will easily take 1 year, so take your time for it. Choices where you feel rushed, because you are afraid that the option expires or the photographer is already occupied for example, does not always feel like the right choices. Listen to your gut feelings in this.
Transfer everything to your master of ceremonies a few weeks before the wedding and then release it. Plan the day before your wedding a wellness day for the two of you and relax!

Tip 4: Make it personal.
By giving your own personal touch to the day, it is also really your day. Write, for example, your own wedding vows (you can best write this on paper). Plan nice surprises for each other or write behind the menu cards what makes this (day) guest so special and you want him / her to be with you on this special day for you.

Tip 5: Make the right choices regarding your budget.
Setting up the budget is also realistic looking at what you find important. As a wedding planner, I want to advise you not to cut back on a number of things: photographer, rings, food and music. The photos and the rings are permanent and the food and music are the most decisive for the experience of your wedding (by your guests). Do you want to save costs: Delete in the guest list, that saves the most.

Tip 6: Plan time for the two of you.
On your wedding day you are often 'lived'. Wedding couples say very often, the day has really flown by. That is why it is so important to experience this day so consciously with the two of us. For example, in the afternoon during the photo shoot, plan a picnic for you alone or plan some rest moments during the day.

Tip 7: Make it a wedding weekend.
Spread the wedding over several days. Rent a beautiful location where you can spend the night with your loved ones, marry, dine, party and brunch. Have you seen these wedding locations? Very close, but still abroad.

Tip 8: Enjoy every moment!
