I like to share 3 styling tips with you!

1. Create a mood board

No wedding is the same. Different guests, locations, daily layouts and styling make every wedding unique. Make a mood board for yourself. You can do this by collecting clippings from magazines, but with the modern tools of today you can also do this digitally. For example with Pinterest, you can collect images from different internet pages on your own digital message board.

The advantage of a mood board is that you can easily show the different suppliers (florist, baker, etc) what you have in mind for your wedding. Because if you say 'we would like a rustic wedding' what do you mean exactly? By showing pictures, that is immediately clear to everyone.

Pinterest also has its own app so on the iPhone or iPad you can always show the mood boards to others.

2. Nice websites that inspire!
Yes, and where do you find inspiration and nice pictures for your moodboards? Personal favorites are:

  • Style Me Pretty: the American website with real weddings (reports of real weddings with lots of atmospheric pictures). Good for many great styling ideas.
  • Weddingchicks: on this website you will find besides inspiration also various 'free templates' or free templates for signposts (wedding signs), monograms and invitations (invitation suites).
  • The Pretty Blog: a combination of real weddings and DIY projects (from free printables to craft projects).

3. Write down everything
Make lists of things that you have to do, want to buy or make. This gives peace in your head (because you do not have to remember everything).

And for the styling (before the wedding day) make packages with descriptions. For example, the table with the guestbook: build the table at home as you want the table to look like on the wedding day. Take a photo as an example, pack all things in a crate or box (as a package). Make a list with what is in the package and put the examples in there.

Because being a bride / groom you probably do not have the opportunity to build things yourself (even the control freaks do not ;)). In this way you can hand over tasks; others can prepare things for you according to the example you have attached yourself.

And if you want to leave the styling to a professional, you can also hire the Bruidsmeisje for the styling of your fabulous wedding :)

Have fun with the preparations of your wedding! Hopefully you have something to these tips.
