Wedding in the South of France: Sascha & Philip

Wedding in the South of France: Sascha & Philip

From the very first moment there was an immediate click between Philip, Sascha and me. Maybe because of the cosy Limburg roots of both of us ;-). Sascha and Philip came to the Cote D'Azur in the South of France from an early age. They wanted nothing more than to share this wonderful place with the people they loved. It had to be a good party with good food, good music and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Those were the main ingredients of their wedding weekend.

Preparations

When we started planning the wedding it turned out that Sascha was also pregnant by their too cute little son. So the help of a wedding planner was absolutely no luxury. Especially with a fiancé who lives and works both in Amsterdam and  in London.

Final details meeting

A couple of months before the wedding we flew with the four of us (yes yes, their son went along as well) to the South of France to go through the last details of the wedding. All three locations we went to see, tasted the wines and champagne and discussed the finishing touch of the styling and entertainment. This 'on-site' detailed meeting often feels like a weekend away together. And so nice because you really have all the time to discuss the wedding in detail and get to know each other even better.

The Wedding Kick-Off

On Friday evening the guests were informally invited for a pizza and a drink. It was not a compulsory part, but it was the ideal opportunity to catch up with everyone. Tasty drinks, the first speeches and pizzas as much as the guests wanted. And that at the beach with a nice breeze, the setting sun and relaxed tunes coming out of the bar. The perfect kick-off to an amazing weekend.

The Wedding in the South of France

Sascha and Philip had rented a beautiful villa where they stayed for two weeks. In peace they are getting ready together with their witnesses and immediate family members. The morning started with a chill at the pool with breakfast. After the first look, they took some pictures and then took the vans to the wedding location. Next to the wedding location was another nice little beach restaurant where they had lunch with their intimates.
At the end of the afternoon was the wedding ceremony. Next to the ceremony benches where the guests sat, there were tables with flutes and bottles of champagne in coolers. A good party starts with champagne of course! After a beautiful ceremony by Jaap Loonen with a smile and a tear (of happiness and recognition), the bubbling could begin. Tasty snacks, drinks, live music and again the funniest speeches. Followed by dinner, which immediately started off well with everyone dancing and waving their napkins! At the end of the dinner a very big Tarte Tropezienne with fireworks was cut as dessert and wedding cake.
They opened the party in a playful way with bottles of champagne with firework fountains in it, an opening dance and letting the champagne flow richly to great music. A party that continued into the late hours.

The Hang-Over Brunch

The next morning was the hang-over brunch/lunch at the villa. Nice lunch, splashing in the pool and chilling out. The perfect end to an amazing wedding weekend!
