You’re getting married! Wow, that’s great. But then, all sorts of wheels start turning in your head. When, where, how big or small will the party be, who is going to be the best man and... who will be the Master of Ceremonies?
All sorts of questions that start plaguing you and that the two of you need to think about. The when, where, size of the party, the best man: we decided on that relatively quickly. But who did we want as Master of Ceremonies?! Well, there weren’t all that many people to choose from, and the people who would or could have done it, well, we really wanted to give them a fun day without any organisational stress as well.
Seeing that you don’t have any experience in organising weddings (after all, you just do it once in your life), you start looking where everyone starts: Google! Search terms: Master of Ceremony, professional, near Nijmegen. And the first hit was Het Bruidsmeisje! Well, that sounded like a good idea.
Het Bruidsmeisje’s site showcased a diversity of services, it was exactly what we were looking for. After all: we didn’t need to have our entire wedding planned, but we were looking for useful tips and a Master of Ceremonies. Vivian ter Huurne had all that in her services package.

She reacted very kindly and quickly to our first email, and that actually never changed! Her passion and love for the profession of wedding planner (because it really is a profession), creative solutions and wonderful contacts within the "wedding scene" make her a truly valuable investment for a successful and unforgettable wedding day! She asks the right questions. Sometimes you mistakenly assume you have already thought of everything! Because she is such a seasoned wedding planner she knows exactly where all the challenges lie. What is the best starting time, or the sequence of the ceremonies, how long will everything take and what are the approximate costs of the venues? She had an answer for everything. Besides that she has a charming and open personality which makes it easy to communicate with her, and to let each other know what the expectations are.

In the end it turned out we needed more of her services than just the Master of Ceremonies. Her creative solutions and contacts in the wedding world turned out to be very important for us. Without her we never would have found 2Rings as our photographers (as an amateur you only notice the difference in price and not in the quality of the wedding photography). We probably would have continued arguing about having a DJ or a band if she hadn’t come up with Espressivo: DJ and live acts (a saxophonist and a percussionist) and we probably wouldn’t have had the impressive invitations from Vanilla Pod Design that everyone is still talking about. She can tell you what the vendors are really like based on the experiences she had with them in the past. She can tell you which photographer suits your style best, and which vendors can be trusted and which honour their agreements. Instead of just trusting all the wonderful stories on the vendors’ websites, it is better to ask Vivian what they are really like, instead of having to experience this yourself first. In this way you can look more specifically for that which suits you best.
On the day itself it was as if everything took care of itself (and this while we had a really full schedule). This just confirms how professional she is. She gave us so much confidence in her that we were able to leave everything up to her, and that is exactly what you want on your wedding day: no worries, and enjoying every minute of it! Just knowing that someone is there to keep all the plates in the air.

It’s actually a pity that working together with Vivian had to stop after the wedding... but it was an incredible time to have worked with her!
