South West England Bride<\/h3>\n

The invitations are sent .. and pjoeiiii, we are pleased with all the nice reactions from our friends and family. We thought it would be great to celebrate our wedding in the South of England, but now it is very nice to see that our guests are happy to cross the canal for our party next year too!<\/p>\n

We had some vague ideas … after an informal ceremony, a drink outside with an ‘English garden party’ touch, think of fresh lemonade, scones, straw bales with floral dress, giant Jenga, fine summer cocktails, live music. Then dinner at long tables<\/a> with a vintage picnic feel, of course followed by dancing until the early hours.<\/p>\n

\"Bruiloft<\/p>\n

We like to be in Devon and Cornwall and started our search for a suitable location there. England has many country houses, castles and even forts where you can go. We have visited, inspected and weighed it all; imposing hotels on the rugged south coast, a cute old farmhouse amidst the rolling hills, stately houses where your jacquet and posh dress with ditto hat come into its own, a characteristic converted barn with an orchard and a garden full of flowers where you can see your guests in front of you with elegant summer dresses. It is there … and we have looked at it all! From Powderham Castle<\/a> we did not have very high expectations because the pictures we saw did not fit very well with what we were looking for, but once we had seen the medieval castle, with all its possibilities, we were sold. The rose garden overlooking the ‘deer park’ and beyond the Exe estuary, the walled ‘pleasure garden’ with apple trees, the long driveway where I see ourselves driving over in an old English car, and then all the spaces (halls might be a more convenient word) where you can do what you want!<\/p>\n

So that’s it, that’s what it’s going to happen! Fine, fine …. Location arranged, now we can continue with all ideas!<\/p>\n
