In traditional weddings it is customary to throw with rice at the newly wed couple. At many places in Holland it is officially not allowed anymore to throw rice, but there are many alternatives (that might even be a lot better than rice throwing)!<\/p>\n

Alternatives for rice throwing:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Flags & ribbons
    \n<\/strong>Flags and ribbons do not give a mess and can be easily handed out in advance to all the guest. Another good idea: let your guests wave with little flags once you just said YES!<\/li>\n
  2. Bubbles
    \n<\/strong>For many years a favorite in Holland. Easy, not too expensive and not messy!\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Confetti
    \n<\/strong>An easy DIY, with a paper puncher or by cutting small paper shreds. \u00a0In your theme color or in all colors of the rainbow.<\/li>\n
  4. Party Poppers
    \n<\/strong>Very festive! Just beware not to pop them too close (but also not too far away).<\/li>\n
  5. Little paper\u00a0<\/strong>airplanes
    \n<\/b>Something entirely different, and it is an easy clean!<\/li>\n
  6. Pompons
    \n<\/strong>Pompons are very cute and available in all colors of the rainbow.<\/li>\n
  7. Rose petals & lavender
    \n<\/strong>Lavender and rose petals create a beautiful natural and romantic effect on your wedding day. And they smell lovely! Just be careful with fresh rose (or other flower) petals, once you stand on them they get slippery. Preferably use dried flower petals. Tip: make a nice paper cone for the ‘packaging’ of the\u00a0rice, confetti, rose petals, lavender.<\/li>\n
  8. Sparklers
    \n<\/strong>Perfect for at a wedding during sunset or at night.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
