Bridal couples, but also the vendors and the people who run the venues often ask me: \u201cWhat are the latest trends when it comes to weddings?\u201d. I always find it a lot of fun to be on the lookout for new ideas… these could be trends that have reached us from the United States, or trends in design and interior design, but also new things that have popped up in other industries.<\/p>\n

What are the latest trends that het Bruidsmeisje has spotted?<\/h2>\n

  1. Colourful 2015<\/strong>
    \nEvery year Pantone introduces the colour of the year, and this year it is a very special, completely non-standard colour: Marsala. Marsala is a colour you shouldn’t really use by itself, but in combination with other colours. A combination I find truly stunning is marsala with rugby tan (nude). Pure, very soft, and because it is so subtle it can be used in every season.

  2. Wedding gowns to fall in love with!<\/strong>
    \nThis coming season it is completely acceptable to be a little daring! From subtle off-the-shoulder dresses, to unusual pastel tints, lots of tulle skirts and capes, high splits, lots of glamour, flower prints and sexy, open-backed gowns. Absolutely magnificent!

  3. Lights, lights and more lights!
    \n<\/strong>2015 is truly the year of the lights. Lots of lights in the trees outside, above the dining table and while the party is in full swing. Another thing we are going to see more of are those cool, giant illuminated letters. Awesome for the bridal couple to use for the photoshoot, but how about using these letters as an alternative photo booth?

  4. Tasting stations<\/strong>
    \nFestival weddings will continue to be a big hit in 2015! Where bridal couples may not want to go all out, they could still get a taste of these incredibly fun festival vibes at their wedding. Certainly during the cocktail part of the wedding. This really creates a fun, refreshing break in the day.

  5. Pinterest is not the answer
    \n<\/strong>Pinterest is a really fun tool to find out what is out there, and also to soak up some inspiration. 2015 is, however, the year to leave all that pinterest perfection<\/span> behind you. You really shouldn\u2019t have a \u201cmust have\u201d list for your wedding. Pinterest makes a lot of brides insecure, and that is so unnecessary. Be sure to stay true to yourself, and to what suits the two of you! Some of the things you find on Pinterest are a little unrealistic to achieve. For one, you would have to have a budget of around \u20ac 7.500 for the event design, and secondly, you would have to start planning your wedding at least a year and a half in advance! If you really want to be unique, start putting together a Pinterest Mood Board with everything that is not wedding-related, but be inspired by who you are and what you do in your daily lives. And then leave it to the creativity of the amazing vendors you are going to use to let them fill in the details.

  6. A New Wedding Itinerary
    \n<\/strong>Worn out wedding programmes: be gone!\u00a0We want something different than the standard agenda. Consider for example the two following alternatives as an itinerary for your perfect wedding day:a. \u201cThere will be a lot of children at our wedding\u201d:<\/span> Why not have an early wedding, with an abundant lunch in the Italian style. The children could have their own entertainment programme, with wedding cake for dessert. Some informal drinks, everyone leaves in the early evening, and the wedding couple have their photoshoot as the sun is setting, because that is when the light is at its best! After that they retire to their bridal suite where they have an intimate dinner for two on the rooftop terrace under a breathtakingly beautiful starry night sky.b.\u00a0\u201cWe want to have an extravagant dinner and a crazy wild party!\u201d:<\/span> Wouldn\u2019t it be wonderful to spread your wedding out over two days, and to have it at two completely different locations? On the first day at an amazing venue in the middle of nature. You could get married outside with an independent wedding official, have a festive drink and a sumptuous dinner afterwards and stay the night with all those closest to you (50 people at most). On the second day you could have a relaxed brunch with all your guests, and then you could come together again at 8 o\u2019clock that evening at the second venue, an industrial site with lots of lights and lanterns and a fantastic band in combination with a DJ where you can party into the wee hours.\"Alternatieve

  7. Pictures say more than a thousand words<\/strong>
    \nNo wedding is complete without a wedding video. And what better way to get the perfect video than to use drones while you are filming? Drones enable you to achieve a striking effect, and at the same time you will get a bird’s eye view of the gorgeous estate, and the magnificent setting you have created for your wedding!
